Australia is such a harsh and unforgiving land. Wandering around in the desert off track on a 40 day alone is asking for trouble. (Luckily this time I got away with it). This is the magnificent Mutawintji National Park.

On the road again, this time to climb Pigeon House Mountain, named by Captain Cook in April, 1770. This popular climb is visited by thousands of people, there's great views of the Budawang Ranges, the forests and the ocean. Apparently, the top of this mountain was once gravel and sediment caught in an ancient glacier, then deposited and lifted.

Plenty of frog species suffered serious decline in recent years. This beautiful tree frog has tiny emerald green spots. The species is hanging on to survival.
